Word Problems

Word Problems

We will be working in groups to solve these 2 word problems.

We will take our gym squads and divide each squad in 2 to make at total of 8 groups.

Using markers and chart paper start solving the problems.

Show all work / idea/ sketches / and final solutions.

Document the solution and creative process by taking a picture of your chart paper every 5 or 10 or 15 seconds.  You can experiment and use the LAPSE IT app.

The Problems

A Bag of Marbles can be shared equally amongst 3, 5, or 6 students with none left over.  What is the least number of Marbles that can be in the bag in order to do this?

Sam loves Basketball and can sink the ball in the net 65% of the time.  If he takes 30 shots how many baskets will he make

Here is a short clip giving you the basic foundation of the history of Math.  It describes how it was originated and used in a variety of cultures.  Watch the video and post afterwords.  Check underneath the clip for specific posting expectations. 

This clip may also give you some inspiration for your own videos you are working on for math.


1. Post comments explaining 3 pieces of information you learned from the video about the history of Math.

2. Explore on you tube and find and post a link to an interesting math clip.  Similar to the one you watched on the previous Math post.
